Professional Development Grant

Members are eligible to receive up to $500 for courses, workshops, conferences, study tours and specialized research. Monies for this fund are raised by the Crafts Council. Applicants must apply before the planned course or event. Upon completion of the professional development, recipients are required to present a report at the following AGM. Display Cases

The PEI Crafts Council has display cases in several PEI provincial Visitor Information Centers which feature Island Made handcraft products.  Professional Members of the PEICC are eligible to display their products in these cases.  They offer excellent exposure to the tourist visitor and are a great way to get tourists to visit your studio or craft shop.  To apply for a display case space please complete and return this form.

Joan Auld Scholarship (Island Residents)

A Scholarship, valued at a minimum of $200, is available to a student undertaking full-time studies in a craft-related field at a recognized institution of craft and design. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, the student must demonstrate high school graduation or equivalency (i.e. must meet the requirements for entrance into a college program).

Production Loan Program (Island Residents)

Interest-free loans to help craftspeople purchase materials (and in some cases equipment and building supplies) in the off season, when income is limited. Maximum $3,000 per craftsperson. Administration fee is $60 ($70 for non-members) per year of repayment.

Provincial Arts Council Grants to Artists

The Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts has several grant programs open to professional craftspeople to a maximum of $5,000 for senior professional artists and $3000.00 for emerging professional artists. For more information please visit: www.peiartscouncil.com

Photo Lightbox Service

At the PEI Crafts Council office we have two lightboxes for professional members to use to photograph their work. One of them is portable and small enough to be taken out of the office for use at home. Please contact us if you’re interested in using this service.
