CALL for ENTRY - A New Definition of Home

A New Definition of Home - Call for Entry

Whether you are a new immigrant or your people have lived here for generations, we are all influenced by new places and new neighbours. How has your practice been affected by changes in your contacts? What new elements have you adopted or what traditional designs and methods have been replaced by elements of other cultures.

We are looking for adaptation or adoption, not cultural appropriation. The shift may be deliberate or subconscious. Look closely at your recent work as it compares to earlier pieces and deliver an exceptional piece that speaks of your craft tradition with a new twist … a personal artistic expression of craft that is influenced by culture whether new or traditional.

We are open to your interpretation of this theme, however it relates to the work you’ve done, and continue to do.

Craft items will be juried by a curator appointed by the PEICC for artistic integrity, originality and level of technique for their medium.  Production items will not be considered for this exhibit. All craft items submitted must be new works of craft and not exhibited previously.  The call for entry for this exhibit will be open to all craft makers from the island.  CARFAC fees will be paid to exhibitors.
