CLAY: POTTERY
Sticks and Stones by Rachel Ballem
My name is Rachel Ballem and I am a Prince Edward Island born pottery artist. I learned how to make pottery in 1997 and have been making and selling it, on and off in the years since. In 2019 I was hired as a production potter at a local studio. Today I am now making my own pottery full time in my home. I draw inspiration from Island life and my whimsical imagination.
My current mug collection includes:
‘Let it Snow’ mugs feature four snowflakes and an evergreen tree with or without Christmas lights.
“Day at the Beach” mugs have five configurations of footprints; solo, with dog, couple, with child and lastly, family.
”Fox” mugs feature a sculpted and hand painted fox in three poses; jumping, sitting and sleeping.
”Drippy Rim” mugs in tankard and belly shape as well as pinch cups, are available in black, copper, yellow, pink, purple, blue and orange.
